This RBBA hosted event will have a business slant for those in business and those who want to be in business. With that in mind answer this question...

Have you ever heard either of these sayings?

It’s tough to be a prophet in your own town

You have to play around the world before you can play downtown

Both of these sayings mean it is hard for a local person to stand out in their own community. In addition to helping you do better professionally and financially, “Bringing Our People Together” seeks to expose you to some of Rochester’s hidden gems by allowing them to show you their expertise and how their success can help you grow your business and income. In addition to some great food, great people, and great organizations, you will hear three mini-workshops that will help you grow your business, improve your marketing efforts, increase your ability to generate income and/or help you start your business venture.

Workshop 1

“Doing Business with the Government”

In Rochester we have an organization that exists to help businesses secure government contracts. Paulette Birch, Rochester PTAC Program Manager will explain how this Department of Defense program which is part of Monroe County Economic Development can help you secure contracts from the City, State, or Federal governments and military.

Time- approximately 15 minutes!

Workshop 2

“The Power of Collaboration”

In Rochester we have a beautiful and powerful Black woman who has build a company that grosses well over tens of millions of dollars. Her name is Valerie Weissert and she owns VWeis Construction a construction management company. One of the strategies that catapulted her to success is Collaboration of services and resources. She will explain how forming strategic and other alliances will give you more credibility, capability, capacity, and opportunity which will all enable you to get clients and contracts that you might not otherwise be qualified to get.

Time- approximately 20 minutes!

Workshop 3

“Where will your behavior take you?”

They say that time ether validates you or exposes you. Whether you are personally validated or exposed will be determined by your behavior more so than any other factor. We are in the midst of a recession that is being felt by everyone. So what are you doing or how are you behaving during this recession? In Rochester we have a sharp business consultant named Dr. Delmonize A. Smith. In this workshop, he will point out specific behaviors that many business owners and marketers are exhibiting and show you the predicted or expected results of those behaviors. Some of those behavior and results are good, some are bad, and many are just plain ugly. In this workshop you will learn how to perform more of the good behaviors and eliminate the bad and the ugly ones.

Time- approximately 25 minutes!

All of these workshops have one goal in mind. That goal is to make this recession and being in business work for your benefit. Instead of working twice as hard for a diminishing return, BOPT and these great presenters are showing you proven strategies for growing your business in the recession or positioning yourself for tremendous growth when the recession is over.
